New FE Strategy now out for consultation Posted on 07/09/2015 00:00:00 A twelve week public consultation on the new Further Education Strategy for NI was launched by Minister Farry on 10 July 2015. The consultation seeks the views of stakeholders on a series of policy commitments that will establish the future direction of Further Education in Northern Ireland. Responses will be crucial in informing the shape and detail of the final strategy which will be published in autumn 2015. The closing date for responses is 2 October 2015. Background
The vision is that further education colleges will be recognised locally, nationally and internationally for high quality and economically relevant education and training provision. Colleges will be focused on achieving excellence in delivering the skills needed for the economy of today and tomorrow, and will be ambitious for their learners, and for the contribution they make to improving the competitiveness of the economy of Northern Ireland.  The document sets out 18 policy commitments grouped under the following themes.
