The BEST Awards 2012 /13

Got an idea for an innovative solution to a business problem?
Is there a market opportunity you know of for a new product?
Are you carrying out work on a novel issue?
Interested in the chance to win iPads or cash prizes as well as adding to your CV?

Then read on!

From its inaugural year in 2010/11, the BEST Awards have grown to become a major showcase for creativity and innovation across Northern Ireland's colleges.  With a particular focus on the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), the BEST Awards were created to support students in their project based learning throughout the year, culminating in a Grand Finals Day which in this present academic year will be in May 2013.

STEM within colleges is extremely diverse and embraces many curricular areas outside of the generally recognised subjects such as Applied Sciences and Engineering.  For example, fashion uses digital design and requires a knowledge of materials; music technology relies on digital processing and programming; so why not projects in these areas and many others.  If your project work has some element of STEM within it, then it will likely be an ideal candidate for the BEST Awards.

If you have an idea for a project or wish to enter work that you are doing (or have completed) as part of your course, speak to your course tutor or see the brochure below (hard copies of the brochure and poster are also available).
